Why Can't I find you on Facebook? Instagram? TikTok? Etc.?

Around 2020, I began to notice trends in a variety of spheres –my perception of music as a field of study and an art form; my family life; and my perception of my students' wellbeing– that lead me to decide not to be a participant in the broader world of social media products. At some point I'd like to do a composer-specific essay of my own on these ideas, but in the meantime I would encourage all to read this in-depth case made by visual artist Anna Heimkreiter.
